The apartment
A duplex above the roofs of Zermatt
Joe’s Place is a 158 m² duplex penthouse in Haus Schaller at Wiestistrasse 158. Oak floors, local wood and a stone wall meet calm contemporary architecture. From the south-facing balcony the Matterhorn fills the view.
The open living, dining and kitchen space covers some 70 m². Roof beams, a fireplace and an induction island keep the room grounded. You cook with oven, steamer, fridge and freezer; a fondue set, coffee machine, toaster and kettle are ready. Overnight stays are limited to four guests.
An internal staircase leads to the sleeping floor. The master bedroom has a box-spring double bed, dressing area, television and Matterhorn views. The en-suite has a shower and a whirlpool bathtub. The second bedroom also has a box-spring double bed and its own shower room. A guest WC with basin sits on the living level.
A welcome basket of wine, champagne and pasta awaits. Wood is laid for the fire. Wi-Fi, bed linen and one set of towels are included. The apartment is on the top floor; the building has a lift. There is no lift between the two floors of the apartment, so it is not wheelchair accessible. Smoking is welcome on the balcony. Underfloor heating, no air-conditioning. Dogs on request for a fee.

Good to know
- Top-floor apartment with a building lift. Inside, only stairs connect the two levels. Not wheelchair accessible.
- Check-in 4–8 pm, later on request. Check-out by 11 am. Please allow about 30 minutes for handover.
- Quiet neighbourhood. Smoking on the balcony. Underfloor heating, no air-conditioning.
- Zermatt is car-free. Parking is possible in Täsch and must be arranged by the guest.

An 8–10 minute walk from Zermatt station. Sunnegga-Rothorn valley station is two minutes away; the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise bus stop is one minute. Quiet, yet close to trains, mountain and village.
Guests have unlimited access to Kraftwerk Fitness, Zermatt’s largest gym (over 350 m²). Training with PIN daily 6 am–9 pm. Reception hours and updates: kraftwerkfitness.ch.

How many guests can stay?
A maximum of four. The apartment is not set up for extra beds.

The building lift reaches the top floor. Inside the duplex there are stairs only. Not wheelchair accessible.

Where do I park?
Zermatt is car-free. Park in Täsch (Matterhorn Terminal) and take the train. Guests arrange parking themselves.
